WAV Sound Files

The WAV sound files on this site are in MPEG Layer 3 or MP3 format. If your computer fails to play them, you may download a CODEC (coder/decoder) program to your computer. By following the link below, you will find a very small (300 KB), yet very good CODEC. To use this file and to hear our sound clips, simply follow these steps:

  1. Print this page for reference during subsequent steps.
  2. Download the mpeg.exe file to your computer, being sure to write its full path (drive and directories) by hand when the downloading program presents its default path.
  3. Start your Windows Explorer and navigate to the file you just downloaded.
  4. Double click on the mpeg.exe file in Windows Explorer.
  5. That's it! The file is installed, and you can now hear WAV sound files.

If you have a Mac which fails to play the WAV files, try www.apple.com/itunes/ to download a much more elaborate and versatile but free media-playing program.
